Determine what form of heating gas boiler you need

There are many different types of gas Central Heating Systems available to you. Despite the different names basically these systems usually have copper pipework, heating radiators and a gas central heating boiler.

People in the UK, Europe and some parts of Russia, hardly need an air conditioner because of the low average temperature. In fact, a decent heating system is a necessity in these regions, and due to this, a majority of new houses have a Gas Central Heating system.

A reliable Gas Central Heating system is important to keep your house warm especially during winter months. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your house. Therefore your heating system needs to be efficient and reliable. It should be durable, easy to use and completely safe.

Two kinds of Gas Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

Pumped or vented Gas Central Heating systems are most popularly used. The pumped/vented Gas Central Heating Systems have an expansion tank and a feed. Your house gets hot water through the stored hot water tank, it also supplies heat to the central heating radiators. When the water expands as it is heated the expansion tank allows for this. The expansion tank is placed at highest spot to help create water pressure. It heats the house and doubles as the water supply.

Many homes feature a pumped/vented Central Heating System, particularly the ones constructed several year ago.

A slightly newer central heating boiler is sealed heating system and this is the preferred central heating system in newer properties. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. This unvented system eliminates water tanks and attic plumbing, thus giving a number of advantages.

- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the loft.

- No maintenance or repair work is required for the pipes and tank which would have been in the attic.

- Because the system is not vented, there is less chance of water leaking out.

- The risk of airlocks, corroding and gunk are reduced because there won’t be any air being taken down into the system through the open holes as the system is sealed.

- Can be easily rinsed out under pressure via the main water supply.

A sealed Central Heating System is a system with the required controls and safety equipment all contained in one. A sealed Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. The pressure of the main water supply benefits the hot water outlets and gives a healthy shower.

The system also has a pressure vessel which contains compressed gas, it controls the variations in pressure and a diaphragm is used to separate it from the sealed system. If the pressure is very high in the system, then the water will escape from the safety valve, and if the pressure is too low, then the safety valve will open to let the water in.

Gas Central Heating Systems are worth the money as they are cheaper to run than any other form of heating. They also offer you all round control which is more than most heating systems do.
