Several types of Central Heating Systems are available in the heating market. Most if not all of these Central Heating Systems comprise of a central heating boiler, some radiators and connecting pipework.

A Sealed Central Heating System is a relatively modern technology, and is being adopted by many homeowners today. No water tanks are needed for a Sealed system as it is a completely closed setup saving space. There are no tanks or pipework in the loft, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:.
- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the loft.
- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the loft in a pumped/vented system.
- The risk of a leaking water tank is all together missing.
- The risk of airlocks, corroding and sludge are reduced because there won’t be any air being taken down into the system through the open holes as the system is sealed.
- It is possible to flush out the system if required by using the mains water supply.
The sealed Gas Central Heating system is a fully packaged system with all the controls and safety devices already in place. The water for the system is provided directly from the main water pipe of the house. The main water supply feeds the system immediately under pressure.
Normal variations of pressure can be allowed in a sealed system through a pressure vessel that contains compressed gas; this is separated from the sealed system water by a diaphragm. Pressure buildup in a Sealed system can be relieved by a safety valve which drains out water; and pressure drop is compensated by automatic fresh intake of water via another valve.
As compared to other heating systems, Gas Central Heating systems are cheaper to run. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
